Our application is a self-contained, client-side utility designed to temporarily prevent device display lock and screen timeout during presentations, studying, cooking, and reading scenarios, allowing users to define custom countdown timers and automate screen behavior based on active foreground apps and charging states.

3. What Personal Data We Collect and Why

3.1 Screen Awake and Automation Settings



To manage and customize your screen-awake preferences, the App processes configuration metadata including:



  • Chosen default activation modes (Manual, Timer, or per-app configuration).
  • Custom timer durations and screen dimming preferences.
  • Device safety settings (battery threshold limits for auto-deactivation).



Storage & Access: This data is stored entirely on your local device inside a secure SQLite database (via Room persistence). None of this data is transmitted, processed, or backed up to our servers.

3.2 Foreground App Tracking (Usage Access)



To automatically keep the screen active when specific applications are in the foreground, the App utilizes Android’s Usage Stats permission (android.permission.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS). The App checks the active package name to match it against your selected apps list.



Storage & Access: This check is performed entirely in active RAM memory locally on your device. The package names of running applications are never saved to disk, never logged to any database, and never transmitted over the internet.

3.3 Awake Session History



To display your session logs in the History tab, the App stores:



  • The date, start time, end time, and duration of active wake sessions.
  • The triggering mode (Manual, Timer, Apps, or Charging Rule).
  • The package name of the app that triggered the session (if using the app-specific mode).
  • The type of charger connected (AC, USB, etc.), if automatically activated.



Storage & Access: This log history is stored strictly on your local device in your App’s private SQLite sandbox. It is never uploaded, shared, or backed up to any cloud service.

3.4 Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob)



To keep Stay Awake free, we display advertisements. The App integrates the Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) service which collects:



  • Unique device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID / AAID).
  • IP address and general location telemetry (coarse country/city level).
  • Device hardware specifications and interaction logs with the ads shown.



Storage & Access: This telemetry is collected and processed directly by Google according to Google’s Privacy Policy. The App developer does not store, transmit, or have access to this data.

4. Cookies, Website Analytics, and Media

Because our App operates strictly on your local device without user registration accounts, we do not deploy web cookies, cross-site trackers, or session identifiers within the App.

  • Comments: If visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

  • Device-Level Permissions: System permissions (like Usage Stats or notifications) are managed entirely by Android’s security framework and can be toggled off at any time by the user.

6. Who We Share Your Data With

No One. We do not sell, trade, rent, or distribute any user data to third-party advertising companies, analytical networks, or data brokers. All screen-awake calculations and history logs are processed and kept completely on-device.

7. How Long We Retain Your Data

All data entered into the App persists indefinitely on your device to maintain historical logs and active preferences. You have full custody of this data.

8. What Rights You Have Over Your Data

Because all data remains local on your physical device, you have absolute control. You can exercise your rights at any time:



  • Export/Inspect: You can view all preferences and history logs directly inside the App settings.
  • Erasure: You can instantly delete all local data by clicking the “Clear History” button within the App, clearing the App’s storage cache from your Android device settings, or by uninstalling the App.
