1. Completely Offline-First & Local Storage Architecture
Hydro Habit is engineered from the ground up to operate completely offline-first. All your hydration logs, daily targets, intake history, cup size preferences, waking and sleeping schedule intervals, and unlocked achievements are stored locally and exclusively on your mobile device (using Android Room SQLite database and DataStore/SharedPreferences).
We do not own, operate, or maintain any cloud storage or remote servers that collect, synchronize, or store your personal health and habit records. Your data remains 100% in your own possession and control.
2. Hydration & Habit Data Processing
When you record water intake, customize container sizes, or set personal hydration targets in the app:
- All calculations, goal progress tracking, and streak evaluations are computed strictly on your device.
- We do not transmit, upload, sell, or share your daily intake logs or routine preferences with any external third parties or proprietary databases.
3. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob)
To provide Hydro Habit as a free application, we display advertisements served by the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob). AdMob may collect and process non-personally identifiable technical identifiers to deliver personalized or non-personalized advertisements, track ad performance, and detect invalid traffic/fraud.
- Information Processed: This may include device advertising identifiers (e.g., Google Advertising ID / GAID), coarse IP addresses, mobile carrier details, device brand/model, and general diagnostic metrics.
- All advertising-related data collection is managed directly by Google and governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.

4. Android Device Permissions & Narrow Scope
Hydro Habit requests only the minimal system permissions required to provide its core hydration reminder features:
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Used exclusively to deliver your scheduled water intake reminders throughout your active daytime hours.
- SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM & WAKE_LOCK: Used strictly to trigger reminder notifications accurately at the exact intervals you configure, even when the device is idle or in doze mode.
- VIBRATE: Used to provide tactile feedback and vibration alerts for reminder notifications.
- INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Used solely to load advertisements provided by Google AdMob and verify network connectivity before serving ad requests.
5. Security of Your Local Data & Deletion Rights
Because all your personal data is stored locally on your device, you retain full custody and management over it:
- In-App Controls: You can edit or delete individual water intake entries or reset your daily targets directly within the app interface.
- Manual Reset: You can clear all application data at any time via your device settings:
Settings > Apps > Hydro Habit > Storage > Clear Storage / Clear Data. - Uninstalling the App: Uninstalling Hydro Habit permanently and irreversibly deletes all stored hydration entries, streaks, and preferences from your device.
6. Wellness & Health Disclaimer
Hydro Habit is intended solely as an informational and habit-tracking wellness companion. The water intake targets and recommendations provided by the app are general guidelines and do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or clinical prescriptions. Individual hydration needs vary depending on activity levels, climate, diet, and health conditions. Always consult a qualified physician or healthcare provider for specific medical guidance.
7. Children’s Privacy
Hydro Habit does not intentionally collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union/UK), in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Since the app operates offline without user registrations, no personal identifying information is collected from any user.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect modifications in our features, platform requirements, or applicable laws. Any updates will be published with a revised “Effective Date” at the top of this document. Continued use of Hydro Habit following any updates signifies your agreement to the revised policy.
