1. Information Collection and Storage

A. Zero Remote Data Transmission (100% On-Device Processing)

ResumeCraft is built on a strict privacy-first, on-device architecture. The App functions as a personal resume builder, curriculum vitae (CV) designer, ATS compatibility optimizer, and document export utility. We do not operate external file servers, cloud databases, or remote resume storage systems. Your personal background, contact information, career history, and generated documents never leave your device:

  • Personal Resume Content: Any information you enter into the App—including your full name, email address, phone number, location, LinkedIn/portfolio links, career summary, work experience, education history, skills, projects, and certifications—is processed and saved strictly on your device hardware.
  • Profile Photos: Any profile picture or professional headshot you select from your gallery to include in your resume is cropped and rendered locally. Your photos are never uploaded, transmitted, or sent to external cloud servers.
  • On-Device PDF Compilation: All resume document rendering and PDF generation (including typography layout, vector dividers, multi-page calculations, and export rendering) is performed natively by your Android device’s local operating system graphics and PDF engine (android.graphics.pdf.PdfDocument).
  • Local Database Storage: All resume drafts, templates, customization preferences, and edit histories are stored inside the App’s local database (SQLite / Room) within your device’s private internal storage sandbox.
  • Zero Tracking or Content Monetization: We do not scan, collect, inspect, upload, sell, or monetize your career information, employment history, or personal resumes.

B. Information Collected Automatically by Third-Party Ad Networks

To provide free access to all resume templates, ATS checkers, PDF exports, and customization tools, the App integrates Google AdMob (Google Play Services) to serve banner, native, and interstitial advertisements. Google AdMob may automatically collect and process certain non-personally identifiable diagnostic and advertising data, including:

  • Google Advertising ID (GAID / AAID)
  • Device brand, manufacturer, model, screen resolution, and Android operating system version
  • IP address (used solely to infer coarse geographic region for localized ad delivery)
  • Advertising metrics (such as ad impressions, click interactions, and loading diagnostics)

Google’s processing of advertising data is governed by the Google Ads Privacy Policy and the Google Privacy Policy.

2. Device Permissions and Why They Are Needed

ResumeCraft requests only the permissions strictly required to perform core resume authoring tasks, export PDF files, and deliver advertisements safely:

  • Photo / Media Picker: Used to allow you to select an optional profile picture or headshot from your device gallery to display on photo-enabled resume templates using standard Android system picker dialogs.
  • android.permission.INTERNET: Required solely to communicate with Google AdMob servers for loading advertisements and verifying network status.
  • android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Used to verify active network connectivity before requesting ad resources.
  • com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID: Required by the Google Mobile Ads SDK on modern Android versions (Android 13+) to deliver ads in compliance with Google Play Developer policies.
  • Android FileProvider (androidx.core.content.FileProvider): Used to securely share, print, or save generated PDF documents to your device storage or third-party email and drive apps without exposing raw device file paths.

The App does NOT request or access sensitive capabilities such as Camera, Microphone, Contacts, GPS Location, SMS, Call Logs, or Phone State.

3. How We Use Your Information

We utilize permissions and technical data solely to:

  • Enable you to draft, edit, format, and organize professional resumes, CVs, and career profiles.
  • Analyze ATS (Applicant Tracking System) keyword density, formatting, and completeness locally on your device.
  • Render and export professional, print-ready ISO 216 A4 PDF resume documents.
  • Display banner, native, and interstitial ads through Google AdMob to keep the application 100% free for all users.
  • Prevent ad fraud, monitor application performance, and comply with Google Play Developer Program policies.

4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Disclosures

We do not sell, rent, license, or share your personal data, contact details, or resume files with any recruiters, third-party marketing companies, data brokers, or advertisers. The only third-party service integrated into the application is Google AdMob, which operates subject to Google’s privacy and security standards in compliance with international privacy regulations (including GDPR and CCPA).

5. Data Retention and User Deletion Rights

Because all resume profiles, documents, and user preferences are stored exclusively on your local device:

  • You retain 100% ownership and control over your resumes and personal career information at all times.
  • Deleting Resume Data: Any resume you delete inside the App is permanently removed from your internal app database immediately.
  • Resetting App Preferences: You can clear all cached data and local resume databases at any time by navigating to Android Settings → Apps → ResumeCraft → Storage → Clear Storage / Clear Data.
  • Uninstalling the App: Uninstalling the App completely removes all internal resume databases and cached configurations from your device.

6. Children’s Privacy

ResumeCraft is a professional career utility designed for general audiences (students, job seekers, and working professionals) and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under 13.

7. Independent Utility & Disclaimers

ResumeCraft is an independently developed Android utility. This App is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google LLC or any recruitment portal or employer.
