Privacy Policy for Image Compressor – Photo Resizer
Last Updated: October 16, 2026
Hello Marketing (“we”, “our”, or “us”) provides this Privacy Policy to inform you about our policies and procedures regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal, technical, and device information when you use the Image Compressor – Photo Resizer Android mobile application (the “App”, Package Name: com.Hellomarketing.ImageCompressor).
By installing, downloading, or using the App, you agree to the collection and handling of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Information Collection and Storage
A. Zero Remote Data Transmission (100% On-Device Processing)
Image Compressor – Photo Resizer is built on a strict privacy-first, on-device architecture. The App functions as an offline-first image compression, dimension resizing, format conversion (JPEG, PNG, WEBP), metadata (EXIF/GPS) stripping, and batch photo optimization utility. We do not operate external photo servers, cloud processing pipelines, or remote telemetry systems. Your photos and personal data never leave your device hardware:
- Zero Photo Uploads / 100% Local Processing: Your original photos and compressed images are processed purely in-memory on your device hardware. We never transmit, upload, backup, view, or store your photos on any external or cloud servers.
- No Personal Information Collected: We do not ask for, collect, process, or store personal identifiers such as your name, email address, phone number, physical address, contacts, or accounts. No user account or login is required to use the App.
- Local Compression History: Your compression history logs (original file size, compressed file size, saved space percentage, output format, resolution, and timestamp) are stored strictly inside the App’s private local database (SQLite / Room) inside your device’s internal sandbox storage.
- User-Configured Preferences: Custom user preferences—such as default compression quality presets, target file sizes, preferred output formats (JPEG, PNG, WEBP), EXIF GPS stripping toggles, and light/dark theme modes—are saved exclusively on your device via Android Jetpack DataStore.
- Secure Local File Sharing: The photo sharing feature generates local secure content URIs via Android FileProvider (
androidx.core.content.FileProvider). We never intercept, copy, or upload your shared images.
B. Information Collected Automatically by Third-Party Ad Networks
To keep Image Compressor – Photo Resizer 100% free with all single and batch compression tools unlocked, the App integrates Google AdMob (Google Play Services) to serve banner, native, and interstitial advertisements. Google AdMob may automatically collect and process certain non-personally identifiable diagnostic, advertising, and device data, including:
- Google Advertising ID (GAID / AAID)
- Device brand, manufacturer, model, screen resolution, and Android operating system version
- IP address (used solely to infer coarse geographic region for localized ad delivery)
- Ad interaction metrics (such as impressions, clicks, view duration, and loading diagnostics)
Google’s processing of advertising data is governed by the Google Ads Privacy Policy and the Google Privacy Policy.
2. Device Permissions and Why They Are Needed
Image Compressor requests only the minimum permissions required to read your selected photos, save the compressed images back to your gallery, and serve ads:
android.permission.READ_MEDIA_IMAGES: Required on Android 13+ (API level 33+) to allow you to select photos and images from your photo gallery for compression, resizing, and format conversion.android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Required on devices running Android 12 (API level 32) and earlier to read photos selected by the user for processing.android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Used on older devices (Android 9 / API level 28 and earlier) to save compressed and resized photos into your device’s Pictures folder.android.permission.INTERNET: Required solely to load banner, native, and interstitial advertisements from Google AdMob servers.android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Used by the Google Mobile Ads SDK to verify network availability before requesting ad content.- Android FileProvider (
androidx.core.content.FileProvider): Used to securely share your processed images directly to messaging, social, or cloud storage apps without exposing raw internal device paths.
The App does NOT request or access sensitive capabilities such as Camera, Microphone, Contacts, GPS Location, SMS, Call Logs, or Phone State.
3. How We Use Your Information
We utilize permissions and on-device technical data solely to:
- Read images selected by you and perform quality compression, dimension scaling, and format conversion.
- Strip sensitive EXIF metadata (such as camera models and GPS location coordinates) upon user request.
- Save the final compressed photos into your device’s standard “Pictures/ImageCompressor” gallery directory.
- Record and display local compression history records showing space saved on your device.
- Display banner, native, and interstitial ads through Google AdMob to keep the application 100% free for all users.
- Prevent fraudulent ad impressions and comply with Google Play Developer Program policies.
4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Disclosures
We do not sell, rent, monetize, license, or transfer your personal data, photos, image contents, or file history to any third parties, brokers, or data aggregators. The only third-party service integrated into the application is Google AdMob, which operates subject to Google’s privacy and security standards in compliance with international privacy regulations (including GDPR and CCPA).
5. Data Retention and User Deletion Rights
