Privacy Policy for DateAlarm
Effective Date: July 17, 2026
Welcome to DateAlarm (“we,” “our,” or “us”). Your trust and privacy are of utmost importance to us. This Privacy Policy outlines our strict data privacy practices and explains how limited information is processed when you use our mobile application.
1. Completely Offline-First Design
DateAlarm operates entirely offline-first. All alarms, event schedules, snooze settings, custom sound paths, and backup configurations are stored locally on your mobile device in a secure SQLite/Room database. We do not operate or host remote servers, nor do we collect, sync, transfer, or transmit any database information. Your alarm configurations stay 100% in your own possession.
2. Calendar Integration (Dynamic Scheduling)
When you authorize READ_CALENDAR permissions, the app dynamically queries your upcoming calendar events solely to automatically schedule and fire accurate, context-aware alarms.
- This data is processed strictly in-memory locally on your device.
- We never upload, transfer, compile, or share your calendar details with any external servers, third parties, or systems.
3. Google AdMob Advertisements
To keep DateAlarm completely free and accessible to everyone, we display banner advertisements powered by the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob). AdMob may collect and process anonymous technical identifiers to serve personalized or non-personalized ads, perform analytics, and detect fraud.
- Information Processed: This may include device advertising identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID), IP addresses, mobile carrier details, and basic device metrics.
- This technical data collection is managed entirely by Google and is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
- To understand how Google processes data, please read How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
4. Android Permissions Utilized & Narrow Scope
DateAlarm requests and utilizes only the minimal required permissions to operate reliably:
- SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: Used solely to trigger precise alarms on time, preventing background operating system delays.
- READ_CALENDAR: Used strictly to automatically import your scheduled events into your alarm system.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Used only to display timely alarm rings, custom alerts, and widget status updates.
5. Security of Your Local Backups
If you choose to export a JSON backup of your alarms, the backup file is saved locally to a directory of your choosing. You remain in complete custody and control of your backup files. We advise you to treat these backups securely if you transfer them between devices.
6. Children’s Privacy
Our app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. While our services are safe for general audiences, we do not knowingly track or process identifiers for individuals under the age of 13, in compliance with COPPA and global privacy frameworks.
7. Policy Updates & Consent
We may update our Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect app updates or regulatory changes. Continued use of DateAlarm signifies your acceptance of these terms.
