Effective Date: September 18, 2025
Welcome to Volume Booster (Package Name: com.aistudio.volumebooster.vmbstx). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy describes our data practices and explains how information is handled when you use our Android application.

1. What Data We Collect and Where It Is Stored

Volume Booster is designed to work entirely on your device. All your audio settings and preferences — including bass strength, virtualizer intensity, stereo balance, equalizer preset, audio profile, max limiter state, and edge lighting preference — are saved locally on your phone using Android SharedPreferences (private app storage). None of this data leaves your device. We do not own, operate, or maintain any cloud servers or remote databases that collect or store your audio preferences.

2. Audio Processing and On-Device Operation

When you use Volume Booster to adjust system volume, apply equalizer presets, boost bass, enable virtualization, or run sound test tracks, all audio processing is performed entirely on your device’s local audio subsystem using Android’s built-in AudioEffect and MediaAudioSession APIs. No audio, voice, or microphone data is captured, recorded, or transmitted. The App does not access your microphone at any time.

3. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob)

To provide Volume Booster as a free application, we display advertisements served by the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob). AdMob may collect and process non-personally identifiable technical identifiers to deliver personalized or non-personalized advertisements, track ad performance, and detect invalid traffic or fraud.

  • Information processed may include device advertising identifiers (Google Advertising ID / GAID), coarse IP address, device brand and model, operating system version, and general diagnostic or crash metrics.
  • All advertising-related data collection is managed directly by Google and governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • To learn how Google manages advertising data and your opt-out options, visit How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

4. Firebase App Check

The App uses Google Firebase App Check with reCAPTCHA to verify the integrity of the App and protect against unauthorized API usage. Firebase may collect limited technical device information (such as device model, OS version, and a Firebase installation ID) strictly for the purpose of verifying that requests originate from our genuine application. This data is governed by the Firebase Privacy Policy.

5. Android Device Permissions and Their Scope

Volume Booster requests only the minimum permissions necessary to deliver its core audio enhancement features:

  • MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS: Used exclusively to boost system volume, adjust equalizer bands, control bass boost, virtualization, and stereo balance settings on your device’s audio engine.
  • VIBRATE: Used solely to provide haptic feedback (short vibration clicks) when you interact with volume sliders and control buttons, enhancing the tactile experience.
  • INTERNET: Used solely to load advertisements provided by Google AdMob and to communicate with Firebase App Check for app integrity verification.
  • ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Used by Google AdMob to check network connectivity before attempting to serve ad requests.

We do not request or use permissions for your camera, microphone, contacts, precise location, call logs, SMS, or any other sensitive data.

6. User Data Control and Deletion

Because all your personal preferences are stored locally on your device, you retain complete ownership and control over your data at all times:

  • Reset Settings: You can reset all audio settings within the App at any time using the reset controls available in the equalizer and profile sections.
  • Manual Data Clearing: You can wipe all app data at any time via your device settings at Settings > Apps > Volume Booster > Storage > Clear Storage / Clear Data.
  • Uninstall: Uninstalling Volume Booster permanently and irreversibly deletes all locally stored settings and preferences from your device.

7. Opt Out of Personalized Ads

You can opt out of personalized advertising served by Google AdMob at any time by going to Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization on your Android device, or by visiting https://adssettings.google.com.

8. Children’s Privacy

Volume Booster does not intentionally collect, solicit, or maintain personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union/UK), in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Since the App operates entirely on-device without user account registration, no personal identifying information is collected from any user.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in app features, platform policies, or legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted with an updated “Effective Date” at the top of this document. Continued use of Volume Booster following any updates signifies your acceptance of the revised policy.
